Background: Low back pain is a common complaint experienced by pregnant women, which can affect their quality of life and health. Poor ergonomic behavior can contribute to the onset of this pain, but understanding of the factors that influence ergonomic behavior in pregnant women is still limited. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between awareness of ergonomic behavior and the incidence of low back pain in pregnant women through the perspective of the Health Belief Model (HBM). Method: The method used is quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. Data collection: Data were collected using a questionnaire that measures awareness of ergonomic behavior and elements of the HBM (perception of susceptibility, severity, benefits, and barriers) in pregnant women in the second and third trimesters. Time and Place: February-March 2025 in the Karanganyar, Boyolali and Sukoharjo districts. Research subjects: inclusion criteria: (a) pregnant women in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, (b) experiencing complaints of low back pain, (c) minimum education of junior high school, (d) willing to be research subjects. Exclusion criteria: (a) there is a comorbid disease during pregnancy, (b) there is a lesion/disorder/trauma accompanying pregnancy. Drop out criteria: not completing/returning the questionnaire. Planned research results: it is expected to obtain how the results of the significant relationship between ergonomic behavioral awareness and the incidence of low back pain, with HBM elements playing an important role in influencing ergonomic behavioral awareness. Information is needed regarding the perception of higher ergonomic benefits and perception of susceptibility to low back pain tends to increase awareness and implementation of good ergonomic behaviors. This study will see how important it is to provide recommendations suggesting the need for an HBM-based approach in health education programs for pregnant women, in order to increase ergonomic awareness and prevent low back pain.
