Abstract

CV. Valasindo Sentra Usaha is a company in the manufacturing sector
that focuses on making garden furniture. CV. Valasindo Sentra Usaha has a number
of divisions that support the company's production process, one of the divisions
that has the largest number of workers and machines is the raw materials division.
One of the work stations in the raw materials division at CV. Valasindo Sentra
Usaha is a cross cut machine. After observing with the NBM questionnaire, it was
discovered that the cross cut machine operator complained of pain in several parts
of the body such as the arms, shoulders, waist and back. Therefore, this research
aims to conduct an analysis of the ergonomic level of body posture of cross cut
machine operators with the help of the RULA method and provide suggestions for
improving workers' body posture. By using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment
(RULA) method, the analysis results showed that posture 1 had a RULA score of 6,
posture 2 had a RULA score of 5 and posture 3 had a RULA score of 6. The results
of the analysis using the RULA method showed that the body posture of the cross
cut machine operator had The risk level is high so repairs need to be carried out
immediately. The proposed improvements include redesigning the work desk, a
more ergonomic chair design, and the addition of adjustable footrest. The
simulation results of the cross cut machine operator's body posture which has
been improved show that posture 1 has a RULA score of 3, posture 2 has a RULA
score of 3, and posture 3 has a RULA score of 3, so it can be concluded that the
proposed improvements shown signiPicant improvements where The RULA score
level was signiPicantly reduced in the three postures of cross cut machine workers.
