Abstract
ABSTRACT
Background: To prepare for and encourage interprofessional collaboration in practice, IPE is incorporated into healthcare curricula. The Faculty of Health Sciences, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (FIK UMS) implements life skills training in the form of KKN-IPE-AIK (Islamic Kemuhammadiyahan-Based Interprofessional Education Real Work Lecture) by collaborating with sixth semester students from four study programs (Nursing, Physiotherapy, Nutritional Sciences, and Public health). The application of IPE combined with peer-led topic discussions (PLTD) can be more effective in increasing student activity in solving health problems found in society. The general aim of this research is to find out a picture of the activeness of health students in IPE-AIK KKN when conducting peer-led topic discussions.
Method: The type of research is qualitative with a descriptive analytical research design. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews by students using interview guide instruments. The research sample consisted of 8 students, 2 student representatives were taken from each study program. In in-depth interviews, researchers gathered information from respondents about the level of activeness of health students when carrying out PLTD during preparation and reporting on the KKN-IPE-AIK work program, then the data was processed through thematic analysis.
Results: The description of the activeness of health students when carrying out PLTD during the preparation and reporting of the KKN-IPE-AIK work program is categorized into very active, moderate, and less active. There are more active students in discussing the preparation and reporting of the KKN-IPE-AIK work program compared to students who are less active.
Conclusion:There are categories of health activity when carrying out PLTD during preparation and reporting of the KKN-IPE-AIK work program, namely students are very active, moderately active, and less active. There are more active students in discussing the preparation and reporting of the KKN-IPE-AIK work program compared to students who are less active. Things that influence student activity are identified to improve further research.
